Epiphanies.
I have my own domain for my blog now. Kewl.
I learned so much last weekend. Thanks to Amoena, I now know how 99.9% of blog readers read blogs. I still don’t constitute a portion of that percentage, since there are perhaps 5 blogs that I read. It’s not a big deal for me, yet.
But Amoena was adamant about including a feedburner feed, whatever, I don’t know what the accurate term is, in my blog. She’s my consultant when it comes to blogging. She’s read BOOKS about blogging. A true pro you might say. I respect her devotion to blogs.
I’m still a little dubious about many blogs, especially those that get quoted in NEWSPAPERS, albeit in Sunday specials. I don’t need to read in my morning paper what kind of pizza the prime minister of Finland likes to eat. Besides, he hates tomato and cheese as pizza toppings! Aren’t they part of the very definition of all pizzas??
I’m so happy with my own domain and my new way of managing my blog. I never completely understood the logic of Blogger. And Amoena tells me WordPress is for über-professional people.
I guess I will have to develop some standards now for my posts. Not too high, because I sincerely don’t believe my readership will ever go beyond Kai and Amoena. And maybe my dad too, at least occasionally. But it can’t hurt, either.
It’s so much more inspiring to post when you have a new, beautiful theme and layout. I have lots of new ideas for my future posts. I’m thinking I’ll expand my content to literary art, and talk more about art in general. Maybe I could slip in some of my musings about language issues, as well.
There’s a very practical reason for new themes. I’m running out of good pictures, and unless I paint a whole bunch of new ones this summer, I won’t have any new pictures to post by next winter. Time will tell I suppose.
Edit: I hope I’ll learn soon how to post thumbnails for my images here. It turns out there’s something good about Blogger after all.
