I reckoned I should post a painting for a change, so I won’t lose any potential readers who come here expecting to see them.

I’m quite content with only one regular reader, though, since it means it doesn’t matter as much what I write here. Not because I don’t care about what she thinks, but because I know she’s heard the most shocking things already.

Like for instance my everlasting infatuation with Avril Lavigne. I couldn’t resist the temptation of using a phrase that will draw unsuspecting fans here in vain.

So. Here are cylon Number Six and Gaius Baltar from Battlestar Galactica, also known as Tricia Helfer and James Callis. This is one of my more recent paintings that I created before Christmas.

Four paintings in a matter of a week was not something I enjoyed too much, and this is the least lousy one of them.

I started with James’ face, which I think looks surprisingly good, considering the amount of time I spent on it (an hour or so), as well as the fact that I rarely paint males.

I sort of lost interest by the time I moved onto Tricia’s face, and the rest of their bodies took maybe five minutes, not surprisingly. I wish I knew what I was thinking with the turtleneck sweater.

I’m proud of myself for using so little paint on this one. I’m also astonished that James actually looks like himself, though again I may stress that it’s not the spitting image of him. Judge for yourself:

I know the hair looks a little dodgy, and he looks like a weasel in general, but he’s really adorable as Gaius Baltar on Galactica. He’s got that upper-class English accent thing going on that I usually hate, but he makes it sound only cute.

Comparing the pictures now, I can see that I flattened his head a little, and his nose is missing the right nostril. Who needs two anyway?

I’m so glad I decided to write this post. Obiskus told me that season three of Galactica is in shops now!!!! I’d forgotten about it, but after this I’ll head straight out to get rid of what little money I have in my wallet.

None of the Finnish tv channels have shown the third season yet, to my never-ending wonder and rage. What’s up with all this neglecting of science fiction fans?!

Curse on those who make the decisions on what to air and what not to air! A plague on all of them!!!
